CPU Cooling
In the lab below, you should install a new CPU. For the purpose of this lab, we have removed the computer's case for you. You will also need to apply thermal paste, install the heat sink and install the cooling fan. For the purposes of this lab exercise, you can assume that ESD precautions are in place.
For maintenance, it is important to clear the fan blades and heat sink of dust at least every six months. This is a quick and easy maintenance task. Blowing compressed air into the fan blades and across the heat sink fins will keep the cooling system running smoothly.
